Why should you choose Jackson’s Gallery to be your picture framer?

N obody, anywhere, has the level of training, education, awards, distinctions and international acclaim that we do.

But it’s not about chest thumping and swanning around with trophies and ribbons, it’s about reassuring our clients that they’ve come to the right place: we know our business, we take it very seriously, and we take immense pride in being the very best at what we do!

Parkland County’s ONLY Certified Framer

We’re one of only 78 in Canada and 3800 worldwide!

It’s not easy to get certified from the Professional Picture Framer’s Association (PPFA), and unfortunately, anybody can hang a shingle and call themselves a ‘picture framer’. 

The PPFA sets standards and provides ongoing research and training to elite framers around the world…but it isn’t easy to get certified!  (Which is why Big Box frame shops cobbled together their own flimsy designation for anyone who passes their ‘training program’)

One of only FOUR Guild Commended Framers in Canada

The Guild Commended Framer Program is based in the United Kingdom under the Fine Art Trade Guild and is internationally recognized as the premier qualification for the industry (if you think it’s difficult getting certified by the PPFA…!!)

One of only 17 Advanced Guild Commended Picture Framers (GCF adv) in the world

Yup, the whole world… (Advanced commendation)

Canadian Picture Framing Champions

We thought that if you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk, so we went head-to-head with the best our great nation had to offer and we hit it out of the park!  (Bet you didn’t even know there was such thing as framing competitions!)

International People’s Choice winner in Orlando, Florida

As national champs were eligible for the ‘Olympics of Picture Framing’: the world championships held annually at the national PPFA convention. 

While we missed the top three placing we were after (curse it), we were voted the favourite by the public in the People’s Choice category. 

We comfort ourselves with the knowledge that this award is chosen not by judges, but by our peers and the public.

Past two-term President of the National Picture Framer’s Association

From there we decided to help elevate the standards in our industry in Canada, so we ran for and were elected to the Presidency of the association. 

With our help, we raised standards by increasing membership and furthered education through events and open houses that drew framers from across Canada and the U.S.

One of only 23 accredited Picture Framing Competition Judges in the world

The next step was to become an accredited judge in picture framing competition. 

This means having a full and practical knowledge of all aspects of custom framing (and it’s also why we haven’t competed for that international gold ribbon…yet). 

It’s an extremely elite group of the best of the best in the industry, and we were recently honoured to be chosen as the head judge in the World Championships in Las Vegas. 

A great honour and responsibility…which our clients benefit from!

International speaker for the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) and the Professional Picture Framer’s Association (PPFA)

We’ve (that is, Karla) has held numerous seminars, lectures, courses, and other training for the industry, and is flown around the world to speak and to coach. 

Nice work if you can get it!  🙂

All of these feathers in our cap were sought for one reason: to serve our clients.

We wanted to demonstrate our commitment to picture framing, and to be the industry leader so that when people need something framed, there really is no better place to come than to Jackson’s.
